The Vet Company, Part Two: The Negotiation

Part Two

The Negotiation

The doctor calls back. The bandage change is no longer the appointment.

At 3:39 PM Dr. Anna Stewart, DVM called. Luna was finally sedated. The cast was off. She opened with an apology for the wait. Then she got to work. She told me Luna's toes were ulcerated. She thought Luna had probably caused a little infection there. Probably. Her word. She wanted to start antibiotics. All of this made sense. It was more or less what we expected to find and exactly what we had come to address. Then she told me she had been doing some research on the dislocation and how to treat it. She said this type of injury does not heal with a splint. Arthrodesis. Fusion surgery. The only option.
